introduction

Do modern day perfume adverts portray a realistic representation of women in the media today, specifically focusing on the ‘Victoria Secret Scandalous’ advert and the ‘DKNY Be delicious’ advert?

The way in which women are portrayed in the media is ever changing and they are being represented in a way that is unachievable to look like without the help of editing and Photoshop. Women are being sexualized and objectified in order to be able to sell more products, whether the advert is targeting men or women or even more disturbingly children. The two texts that I will be looking at are ‘DKNY Be delicious’ and ‘Victoria Secret Scandalous’ perfume adverts.
